- Michelle Sutanto (Indonesian, 24 May 2000) is an emerging Indonesian artist currently based in Chicago, Illinois. She is currently a junior at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago focusing on painting and drawing and Art History. Being the experimental artist she is, Michelle is still in search of her specific style. On the previous Unknown Asia exhibition in 2020, she has developed a fascination with the method of close-up paintings and exploring the microcosm. Nevertheless, her practice has flourished and expanded by exploring a different style this year which is through her figurative art and experimental abstraction touching upon social and personal issues.
