He received the DPH prize (Gatsuzoji Art prize) at UNKNOWN ASIA 2018 and he extend the range of activities.
He is an artist who broadens the range of activities in Osaka, Tokyo and even overseas.
He express his own worldview by using mainly Japanese paper and ink with a motif that makes you feel Japanese.
Many creatures that drawn in his works are made from ancient Japanese thought "everyone has life in everything”.
In this time, we hope that you will be familiar with art as a more familiar presence by collaborating with the historic Gatsuzoji Nichigatsuen.
Also on the same day, "Sakai Cultural Property Special Exposure in Heisei 30th Festival”, "71 Creative Market” and also "Gathering of Tanbudabi" in the neighboring area are held. Born in 1991 from Ehime, lives in Osaka.
He express his own worldview to use Japanese paper and ink with the margin of the Japanese painting, how to draw clouds, attaching tsukumogami.
Attracting popularity with the style which made use of the unique appearance motif and unique details of creatures in it

I exhibit artworks made by dragon and temples that protect Senkyo and fox and raccoon dog that are connected with people for their motif at this exhibition.
Small creatures around the work are pure creatures like Tsukumogami and fairy.
They enters everything, such as nature and still life, and the life lives.
I hope you enjoyed both the whole artwork and the thin part.

堀は、9月に大阪梅田で開催されたアートイベント「紀陽銀行 presents UNKNOWN ASIA Art Exchange Osaka 2018」においてDPH賞（月蔵寺 アート賞）を受賞し、大阪、東京、さらには海外にも活動の幅を広げるアーティストです。主に墨と和紙を使用し、和を感じさせるモチーフで自分の世界観を表現しています。作品の中に数多く描かれている生き物は”あらゆるものには命が宿っている”という日本古来の思想から発想を得ています。由緒ある月蔵寺日月園とアートがコラボレーションすることで、アートをより身近な存在として親しみを持っていただけると幸いです。
また同日、月蔵寺も参加しております「平成30年秋季堺文化財特別公開」や「71 Creative market」、近隣エリアでは「灯しびとの集い」などが開催されており、堺区内で様々な催しが開催されております。各会場をつなぐような無料ループバスなども走っていますので、「堀としかず 作品展 at 月蔵寺日月園」と合わせて、この機会にぜひ堺を巡ってみてはいかがでしょうか。
[堀としかず プロフィール]
1991年生まれ愛媛出身、大阪在住。
主に和紙と墨を使って日本画の余白や雲の描き方、付喪神などを取り入れながらモチーフを自分の世界観に落とし込んで表現する。展覧会、イラストレーション、壁画制作など、独自に表現したモチーフとその中の生き物たちの細かな様子を活かした作風で人気を集める。

今回の展示は仙郷を守るような龍やお寺や人と繋がりのある狐や狸をモチーフに制作した作品を展示させていただきます。
作品のあちこちにいる小さな生き物は付喪神や妖精のような存在で純粋な生き物です。
この子たちが自然や静物などあらゆる物に入り命が宿ります。
作品全体と細い部分両方楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
