UNKNOWN ASIAで審査員を務めるパタモン・ニサボディのバンコクにあるギャラリーでM.S. Alwiの個展が開催されます。この展示は、M.S. AlwiがUNKNOWN ASIA 2025でPatamon Nisabodee賞を受賞したことをきっかけに実現しました。
M.S. Alwiは、バンダ・ネイラとジャカルタを拠点に活動する、インドネシアのアーティスト。
彫刻、映像、サウンド、ドローイング、絵画など、多様な表現手法を通して、インドネシアのオカルト文化、民間伝承、信仰、記憶を探求しています。現在は再生紙を用いた「ペーパークレイ」に焦点を当て、紙を彫刻作品へと変容させながら素材、物語、文化的記憶を結びつける作品を制作しています。
A solo exhibition by M.S. Alwi will be held at a gallery in Bangkok directed by Patamon Nisabodee, a judge at UNKNOWN ASIA.
The exhibition follows Alwi's receipt of the Patamon Nisabodee Award at UNKNOWN ASIA 2025, which led to this opportunity to present his work in Bangkok.
M.S. Alwi is a self-taught Indonesian artist based in Banda Neira and Jakarta. His multidisciplinary practice explores Indonesian occult culture, folklore, belief, and memory through sculpture, video, sound, drawing, and painting.
His current practice focuses on recycled paperclay, transforming paper into sculptural forms that connect material, narrative, and cultural memory.
