1994年大阪生まれ。京都造形芸術大学修士課程修了。『存在の痕跡や気配』というテーマで絵画作品を制作。主な作品に「21g」シリーズ、サビを扱った「時間・痕跡」シリーズなど。 In Kurumi Kotani’s painting series 21g the entire painting surface is treated like a “window,”
and on the glass with condensation are traces of someone. Kotani, who is interested in the
mystical or supernatural phenomenon, creates an image that reminds us of horror movies
and indicates the presence of something unsure. On the other hand, in her series “Time,
Trace, Rust,” the way she uses the rust, which appeared on the metallic surface due to
exposure to the air and waters as a painting medium, makes us think about the passing of
time that changes material and traces of experience. The image that is created also
