- Lau is a collector of Hong Kong old textbooks and he recently published a book on his collection. Lau is also the curator of Old Textbooks Showroom, a private gallery operated since 2015 where people can reminisce how Hong Kong once was. Lau also uses Old Textbooks as his style to create a series of products such as postcards and zines.

- Lau sees himself as a visual art artist .His work has been exhibited in various countries, including Festival De la Luz of Buenos Aires Argentina, Liverpool International Photography Festival and being collected by museums and private collectors. His photography series “Landscaped Artifacts” (2013) has gained him the New Photography Artist of the year from Lianzhoufoto Festival 2013.
