On both large scale and intimately small canvas, I paint flat cell like bodies appearing as randomly placed or highly ordered. In undertaking these different formations, the paintings assert a reserved calmness.

Figurative elements are played to a minimum, reduced to basic cell or
half cell-like shape. these appear as transparent planes of colour, overlapping and multiplying across a canvas. The life of cell is played out in each painting.

The character of these cells presents a faceless genderless tableau of gentle, faded, flickering colours; distinctiveness is dissolved by endless combinations of hue and transparency. Each cell is transformed as it overlaps with another in order to produce an anonymous world distanced from the clutter of everyday life.
