MANZANE
- プロフィールProfile
-
Manzane (Daniela Mendoza,b. 1991) is a Mexican artist from Sinaloa, Mexico.
Through her project "MANZANE", Daniela creates soft sculptures that resemble organic figures by tufting colorful yarn, transforming what she takes as inspiration from sea creatures, cells, sunsets and her daily life panorama.
Her artistic practice emerged, in part, from her background in digital animation. Prolonged work in front of screens created a need to reestablish a physical relationship with materials and manual processes. From there, repetition became a central tool in her practice: repeated movements, patterns, and gestures transform materials, leaving behind a record of the time and body that produce them.
