Wulang Sunu (b. 1992) is an Indonesian visual artist based in Yogyakarta.
Working across drawing painting animation and installation his practice explores human experience history and mythology often blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination.
He studied Graphic Design at ISI Yogyakarta and worked with Papermoon Puppet Theatre from 2011 to 2016.
In 2013 he co-founded Studio Batu a multidisciplinary collective working across film visual theatre and contemporary art.
His work combines humor tenderness and absurdity to reflect on the contradictions and complexities of everyday life.
In recent years Sunu has increasingly collaborated with publishers on cover illustrations and has expanded his practice into music creating artwork and illustrations for Indonesian and international musicians including Sigmun Frau Melbi Perunggu and Rich Brian. - 略歴・受賞Career / Prize
