- Naela Ali (b. 23 July 1992) is a Jakarta-based artist, illustrator, and author whose work captures the quiet beauty of everyday life. Since publishing her first book in 2016, she has released twelve titles, some of which have been translated into Portuguese and Vietnamese, and featured at events such as the London Book Fair and the Singapore Art Book Fair. Alongside her books, Naela has collaborated with brands such as Starbucks and Fujifilm Instax, bringing her warm, thoughtful style into products and creative projects. In recent years, she has focused on painting, drawing inspiration from her travels and artist residencies in Japan. Her work reflects calm, nostalgic scenes and has been shown in both group and solo exhibitions, including Art Jakarta, ARTA Derau in Bali (2024), and an upcoming solo show in Jakarta (2026). Her paintings invite viewers to slow down and find meaning in life’s quiet moments.
