  中世室町時代より代々続く能楽の梅若家に生まれ、関西を中心に日本各地での公演、海外公演にも多数参加。また、他の古典邦楽や現代演劇、音楽や映像とのコラボレーションも積極的に挑戦し、日本の伝統芸能としてだけでなく、世界に通じる演劇としての評価や、「能楽」の更なる可能性も高めていきたいと考える。2017年西宮能楽堂を建設、能楽だけでなく日本の古典芸能の良さを発信。 Born into the Umewaka family, a lineage of Noh performers dating back to the Muromachi period, he has participated in numerous performances throughout Japan, primarily in the Kansai region, as well as overseas. He actively works to raise awareness of Noh not merely as a traditional Japanese art form, but as a theatrical form enjoyed worldwide, and to further expand the possibilities of Noh, he collaborates with other Japanese classical music, contemporary theater, music, and video. In 2017, he established the Nishinomiya Noh Theater, and is dedicated to promoting not only Noh but also other Japanese classical performing arts.
